At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior at New Hebron M.B.. Church of Aberdeen, MS. He later joined Chapel Grove West M. B. Church of Okolona, MS after marriage to Hazel Moore Williams. To that union, four children were born ; Jeanette, Annie, Willie Jr., and Maxine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Maxine Williams, and his siblings Bertha Hampton, Bessie Green, Gola Walker, George Bradford, Walter Bradford, Cornelius Bradford Jr., Bobby Bradford, and Elance Bradford; a special aunt Eternal Cook.
