I am the son of Ellis Shumpert, Jr and Sara Willis. From a young age I was
raised by my paternal Grandmother Julie Belle Cooks and her husband
Moses Young. This is where my spiritual foundation was formed. I was in
church all the time. Richardson Chapel/McGee is where I learned to play the
drums, how to pray, and most of all, I learned how to develop my
relationship with God! Once I was older, I primarily lived with my Aunt
Julia Mae and her husband Roosevelt. Over the years I lived with my Aunt
Linda, Lourena, and my Uncle Wankie. I grew up living mainly, Verona. I
married more than once and have remained genuine friends with them.
From these relationships I have children and stepchildren whom I love
dearly. Later in life, I was Blessed to obtain a job working for Lee county
with Tommie Lee Ivy. This became a great career where I learned a lot and I
thoroughly enjoyed it. All of these events brought light into my world.
