Pauline Gillard Tyes, age 89, loving mother of nine, and adoring wife to her husband Tom Tyes, departed on August 5th, 2025. She was born to Clinton and Mozzie Beene Gillard on January 12, 1936. Pauline professed her faith in Christ at an early age at New Tabernacle M. B. Church and was a member of the usher board and senior choir ministry until her health declined. She later became a regular attendee at Mt. Zion Community Church.  Pauline graduated from Baldwyn Colored School and attended Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

Pauline was known as Becky, Granny, and Grandma and was greatly adored by her family and friends. She wore many hats throughout her lifespan, but her motherly role moved outside the household and into the community where she became Granny to many beyond her bloodline. She enjoyed spending time with her family, riding to the lake, sitting on her front porch, receiving flowers, Diet Coke, and Spearmint Gum.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, Ruby Tyes Huddleston and Willie Dale Tyes, her sisters, Annie Williams and Suzanna Gardner, her brothers, Willie Gillard, Frank Gillard, Alvin Gillard, Walter Lee Gillard, James Earl Gillard, Elize Gillard, Paul Gillard.

She leaves to cherish her memories: seven children, Russell Tyes (Shirley), Tommy Tyes and John Tyes of Tupelo, MS, Jimmy Tyes (Sandy) of Baldwyn, MS, Barbara Mullins (Clifton) and Tisha Stewart of Booneville, MS, Sandra Tyes of Baldwyn, MS, her brother, Art Gillard, sisters, Tisha Beene, Lillie Bell Henry, Fluorine Addell, Earline McLarin, Florsteen Partee, and Betty Jean Barnes, 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
