Lovice Young McGaha was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who
was known and loved by many.
A Time To Be Born
Lovice Lucenda Young was born to the late Bubba and Eula Mae Young on September
25, 1954, in Baldwyn, MS. She was the third of three children
A Time To Be Saved
Lovice gave her life to Christ at an early age and stayed devoted to His service all the
days of her life as a member of Mt. Zion Community Church.
A Time To Serve
Lovice graduated from Baldwyn High School in Baldwyn, MS. She worked several jobs
tirelessly to provide for her family. Eventually working as a dispatcher for the Baldwyn
Police Department until her retirement.
A Time To Be Loved
She leaves behind one son, Ken McGaha of Pontotoc, MS and two granddaughters,
Kaliya Smith of Aberdeen, MS and Meghan McGaha of Horn Lake, MS.
She departed this life November 11, 2025. She leaves to cherish her memory her son,
granddaughters, brothers-in-law: George McGaha and F.R. Mitchell; her nieces and
nephews, great nieces and great nephews and scores of cousins and friends. She was
preceded in death by her husband Michael McGaha, parents, and sisters Lee Ethel
Mitchell and Eleanor Ricks.
