Louise Burress
Shinault
Nov 21, 1946 — Aug 26, 2025
Booneville
A Virtuous Woman
Louise Burress Shinault was born November 21, 1946 in Prentiss County MS unto the late Archie "Lut" and Lucille Burress. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the home of her sweet sister, Renell Gardner, who was her caregiver until the end. She joined Ruben Chapel CME Church at an early age. She served as a member of the Usher Ministry and remained an active member of the Church until her health diminished.
Momma Lou was the epitome of a virtuous woman who loved the Lord, lived for her kids, and treasured her entire family. Being a lady of great character, she was quiet in nature, always polite and never complained – the calm in the storm. Momma Lou was the glue that held the family together and her love extended to friends and family. She was a great cook who knew how to season food perfectly without measuring. It gave her great joy to prepare Sunday dinners for her entire family. You would never go hungry around her! If you were ready to eat and you were there for dinner, all were welcomed. She never turned anyone away. If there were an award to give Momma Lou, it would be the "Mother of the Year"!
Momma Lou was a 1965 graduate of Wick Anderson High School. After graduating, she worked for Blue Bell until it closed and then ACCO until she retired. She had a great work ethic. After retiring, she became a caregiver to her mother, Lucille Burress and helped to rear her grandchildren. She was a very independent woman who relied heavily on the Lord for strength and guidance. Momma Lou thoroughly enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, watching "Wheel of Fortune", "Days of our Lives" and "Young and the Restless."
She was preceded in death but now reunited in heaven with her mother and father.
She is survived by her loving sister Renell Gardner and god-sister, Wendy Gardner (Johnny); her devoted children Anthony Burress, Sr. (Mariea), Camellia Wilson (Otis Sr.), Andrew Shinault, Jr. (Wendy), Randy Shinault (Michelle), Darius Shinault (Shartonae); 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and 1 nephew: Melissa Burress, Charles Gardner, Jr (Samantha); Kayla Williams (Brian); Monica Harvey (Lamont); Tiffany Burress (DJ); very special family, friends and classmates: Vera Harris, Annie Franks Justice, Betty Joe Tate, Dianah Stewart and a host of cousins and other relatives.
