Lisa LaShay Meardith was born on May 26, 1985 to Jackie and Betty
Meardith. She was the oldest of two. Lisa began her Christian journey at an early
age. She professed her belief in Christ and became a member of Mt. Zion M.B.
Church of Verona, MS under the leadership of Pastor Donnell Nichols.
While at Mt. Zion, Lisa "Shay" was a faithful member of the Mass Choir where she
was known for her melodious praises of singing "Precious".
Lisa was a Shannon High School graduate, where her classmates remember her as
being sweet, kind, and soft spoken. Following high school Lisa entered the childcare
world to provide care for preschool children. Lisa enjoyed singing, spending time
with her family and dancing.
On Saturday, August 28, 2021, Lisa departed her earthly home to embrace her home
on high. Lisa leaves to cherish her loving memories: her parents, Jackie and Betty
Meardith of Verona, MS; her sister, Tiffany Merardith of Southaven, MS; her
nephew, Tyler Smith of Southaven, MS; Grandmother, Lille Mae Morris of Verona,
MS; Aunts: Lille Ruth Johnson (Terry) of Plantersville, MS, Jacqueline Meardith
of Verona, MS, Janika Clemmons of Milwaukee, WI); Uncles: Pete Meardith
(Valerie) of Baldwyn, MS, Alvin Morris (LaTonia) of Verona, MS, Efrem Smith
(Raketra) of Toledo, Ohio; Great Aunts, Great Uncles and a host of Cousins and
friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Sonny Meardith and
grandfather, James Morris.
