Lillie Pearl
Coleman
Mar 21, 1926 — Oct 10, 2022
Baldwyn
On October 10th , I transitioned home. My journey has been completed. I have gone to be
with my Heavenly Father. The home that I always prayed, sung, and talked about. It has been a
great journey.
Our circle is now complete. My husband, Forrest Coleman, was there to greet me; what a
glorious reunion. The reunion also included my parents, Lark and Blanche Copeland. I was also
greeted by my brothers and sisters whom had transitioned many years ago. Lee Amos Jones,
Alma Lee Cowan, Georgia Lou Gilleylen, Cora Drinkard, Roy Copeland, Clarence Copeland,
Lark Copeland Jr., and Lou Ellen Copeland. Pearly gates, streets of gold, and a never ending
environment where we praise our Heavenly Father. Oh that Heavenly Choir; angels everywhere,
praising God, our Father.
To my lovely children, Pamela Coleman and Kenneth Coleman (Markeda Coleman); do not be
saddened by my home-going. You were great small children and became wonderful adults; I was
so proud to be your mother. Raymond (Ray), my nephew I had the pleasure of raising, I'm so
happy to be reunited with you. Also, a special stepson whom I adored, Willie Earnest Cummings.
I know that all of you will continue to praise God and live the life that we always studied and
talked about.
My pride and joy, my grandchildren: Andrartis Coleman (special friend Tracie Lung), my
beloved grandson who always checked on me every night. Kenya Coleman, my very special
caregiver who looked after me daily and was attentive to my every need. Rod Pierce, my loving
grandson. Justin McKinney, another grandson whom brought me great joy. He loved my cooking!
Shanta McKinney, my honorary granddaughter, I was so blessed to have you in my life.
My world whom brought me great joy, my great grandchildren: Jalysia Coleman, my first
great grandchild, who always applied my make-up, fixed my hair and tenderly looked after me. I
am so proud of the young lady that you are becoming. My great grandson, Colton Chandler, a
studious great grandson that brought me pride and joy, an outstanding academic scholar and a
wise child. I know that he will do great in life. Kentourious Pierce and McKenzie Pierce, more of
my great grandchildren that brought me joy. Kinsley Coleman, a bundle of joy whom I know will
do great in life.
To my beloved nieces and nephews, thank you for the phone calls, visits, and most of all the
love that you have always shown me.
I joined Mt. Nebo at an early age. After uniting in holy matrimony with my husband Forrest;
I united with Mt. Zion Community Church where we worshipped our Lord and Savior. I served
as a Sunday School teacher, choir president, member of the deaconess board, and President of the
young adult choir. I also was a member of the Heroines of Jericho. My first job was at the Gentry
theater as a ticket holder. I worked at Guntown Slacks, Purnell Pride, and was head cook at Lee
Prentiss High School. My pride and joy job was nurturing and loving young children whom I
kept in my home. It was while disciplining the young
children, placing them on the time-out chair as needed; as well as preparing home cooked meals,
and teaching them life skills that made my job extremely satisfying.
I pray Lord that you will heal my families' hearts as they continue on in your care. I will
always be in your heart, picture me as I was, full of life and love. Although not with you now,
I'm watching from above. I know how much you miss me and I miss you too, it was my time
to leave as each of us will do. Although not in your arms, I'm always in your heart. The precious
love we share means we are never far apart.
Love Always
