Leonardo A.
Hill
Feb 14, 1961 — Dec 13, 2024
Baldwyn
Leonardo A. Hill (Nard) was born February 14, 1961, to the late Johnny Q. Hill and
Annie Ruth Pippin Hill. He graduated from Baldwyn High school in 1979.
At an early, age he joined Mt. Nebo C.M.E.Church. Upon completion
of high school, he was employed at Mid-South Meat and Packaging Company until its
closure in 1989. He later worked at Plumrose, and then BioClinic.
He enjoyed cycling with a group of other men in the community and had a passion for
working on cars.
In Nard's last several months, his fight against sickness and weakness seemed to grow
more intense each day, but he continued to believe for "better". We would tell him, "It's
going to get better!" He would simply say, "I Know".
Well, guess what? It did get better. He has shed that earthly house, tabernacle (body)
that was filled with pain. Second Corinthians Chapter 5 tells us the believer has a
house, a building (a body) not made with hands, not made by man but that new
tabernacle is of God, eternal in the heavens. To be absent from that old body is to be
present with the Lord.
No more trips to the doctors; no more pain; no more tears, simply rest in the presence
of our Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for the lessons of tenacity and strength you taught us
through Leonardo Hill's life! He did not live in vain.
Nard was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister (Linda Pruitt). He is survived
by his wife Franda Keeton Hill, one son Christopher Burress (Serena), two
grandchildren Moriah Burress and Christopher Burress, Jr., two stepdaughters Makalyin
and Trinity Billups; three brothers Willie E. Hill (Gloria), Gary S. Hill (Elizabeth), Lanny
Shelly (Denise); two Sisters Stephanie Woods (Joe), Olivia Moore (Anthony) and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
