Jerry Shannon, 68, of Guntown, MS departed this life on November 28, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1987 to the late Willie Lee Swingrum and Cora Bell Shannon in Tupelo, MS where he was raised.

Jerry professed his faith in Christ early in life and joined the membership of Mt. Moriah Holiness Church in Guntown, MS.

Jerry attended Carver High School where he got is GED and joined the United States Army.

Jerry married Sheila Wade Shannon in September of 1980. This was the beginning of a devoted partnership that remained a cherished part of his life for 45 years.

Jerry enjoyed so much in his life-his family, his church family and the people in the community. He also loved sitting outside and finding things to work on around the house.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, he peacefully transitioned from this earthly life and entered the presence of God.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Victor Shannon, his sister, Gail Campbell and two grandchildren, Malik Rivers and Santayia Gates.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 45 years, Sheila Shannon of Guntown, MS; one (1) son, Shawn Wade of Guntown, MS; two (2) daughters, Cassandra Shannon and Jaketa Shannon of Atlanta GA; three (3) sisters, Joann Ford of Shannon, MS, Alfreda Middlebrroks and Estlean Middlebrooks both of Tupelo, MS; three (3) brothers, Charles Swingrum of Aberdeen, MS, Willie Swingrum (Kathy) of Saltillo, MS and Paul Swingrum of Tupelo, MS two (2) grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
