Jerlene Mims Riley was born October 9, 1957 in Byhalia, MS to Octie Matthews and Henderson Mims.  She departed this life Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Regional Medical Center in Corinth, MS. surrouneded by her family.  She joined  Mt. Zion M. B. Church and later moved her membership to Springhill M. B. Church in Baldwyn, MS.  She graduated from Byhalia High School in Byhalia, MS and later attended Mississippi Valley State University.  She worked for At&T (BellSouth) for 37 years, where she retired in June 2013. On April 20, 1985, she united in Holy Matrimony with Barry Riley.  In this special union, they reared three amazing and loving children; Brian Mims (Jamie) of Longview, TX; Lindsey Hodges (Jordan) of Baldwyn, MS; and Jerrica Riley of Ridgeland, MS: two grandchildren, Bryson and Mallory: her sisters, Sandra Jean Stewart, Joan Morris (Leonard) and Joy Griffin; special uncle, Orndoff  "June" Matthews Jr (Evelyn): caring cousin, Diann Payne (Amos); sisters-in-law, Rita Bell (Samuel) and Jessie Riley; brothers-in-law, Gary Riley (Shelia), Harvey Riley and Ronnie Riley; host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one nephews, Ronnie Wheeler and brother-in-law Willie "Petie" Cox (Linda). Jerl was truly blessed with a loving family that was always by her side until God called her to her Heavenly home.
