James Eugene Warren was born on November 6, 1936, to Samuel Warren and Viola Scales Warren in Baldwyn, MS. He entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. 

James attended Baldwyn Colored School. He worked at Midsouth Packing Company for many years. He moved to Detroit, MI and worked for the Ford Motor Company. He retired after 31 1/2 years. He loved fishing and was an avid moose and elk hunter. 

James is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Warren and Viola Scales Warren; his sons Darrell “Deo” Warren and John Russell Agnew, siblings, Bonnie Faye Cummings, Lee Earnest Warren and T. Charles Warren. 

James is survived by his daughters, Shirley Copeland (Bobby), Phyllis Gladney, Karen “Sue” Grove, Willie Mae Stevens (Al) and Marcella Tate; his sons, James Kenneth Warren, Duane Warren (Lolita), Shaun Warren (Aisha), Sean Satterwhite (Zarinaha); his sister, Donna K. Spencer (William); brothers, Mitchell Warren (Shirley) and Duane Warren (Barbara); 22 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
