James was born in Pontotoc, MS on April 17, 1966, to Mary Clark and Clavin Jones. He went home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 10, 2026.

James was baptized and gave his life to Christ at a very early age. He was a member at New Dimension Community Church in Tupelo, MS.

 He is survived by his wife of 28 year, Debra Jones and they had three wonderful children: Dorian Berry, Cecily Washington (Shaun ), and Charelle Thomas (Aubrey); three grandchildren: Taylor, Lilee, and Aubrey Jr. He also leaves three sisters: Melissa Clark, Shika Jones and Brenda Clark; one brother Jimmy Clark and other family members and friend 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Clark and sunshine father In Loving Memory Robert “Sonny” Burns; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
