Elizabeth Beckley was born on September 13, 1929, in
Pontotoc, MS, to Ramey Chew and Maggie Chisholm Chew. She was
fondly known to everyone by the name of "Ms. Liz." She attended
school in the Pontotoc School System.
Elizabeth accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She later
joined New Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Tupelo where she
remained until death. She sang in the church choir.
On October 5, 1946, she united in holy matrimony to Mr. E.L. Beckley
who preceded her in death on January 30, 2009. Also, preceding her in
death was son Larry Beckley. one daughter, Martha (William) Carter; one sister, Juliette (Alvis) Cobb; one
brother, Ramey Chew (Annie Margaret) both of Racine, WI.
On Wednesday night, January 27, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical
Center in Tupelo, Liz heard and answered the call of the Master and
was reunited with her loving husband of 62 happy years.
To lovingly remember and cherish her memory are her children:
Shirley (Hollis) Beckley-King of Southfield, MI, Donna Beckley-Jones
of Saltillo, MS  (13)
grandchildren, (9) great-grandchildren, (17) great-greatgrandchildren and (9) great-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of
nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
