Dorothy Mosley was born on September 14, 1934 in Smithville, MS to the late Will and Margie Mosley. She departed her earthly life on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at NMMC Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory, MS.
Dorothy graduated from Amory High School. She was a phenomenal basketball player. She worked at East Amory Elementary School as a cook for 33 years. She worked at Bill & Jim's Friendship House, where she was well known for her chocolate, lemon, caramel and coconut pies. She was a faithful member of Spruell Chapel U.M.C. She was an usher and member of the United Methodist Women and a member of the PPR Committee.
She was preceded in death by her four siblings: Essie McKinney (Cummings), Darcus Bates, Tessie Lee Mosley and Golden Mosley.
She is survived by her children: Willie Earl Coleman, Anita Dixon (Charles), Brenda Mosley, and Melinda Whitfield (Vinson); four grandchildren: Niesha Mosley (Donnie), Ammuel Lee McKnuckle, Kimberly Dixon and Megan Reese. She has fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
