On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, heaven gained a devoted brother, uncle and friend David Earl Watkins. He was the 6th child of Levi and Jeanette Watkins. He was born December 15, 1956, in Lee County.

He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Second Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Verona, MS where he remained until God called him home. David enjoyed fishing, joking around and hanging with his brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Jeanette Watking, wife Rosemary Watkins; brothers, Johnny Watkins and Charles Watkins, and a sister Mattie Fields. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings: Phillip (Martha) Watkins, Benny (Nadine) Watkins, Jerry (Arlisha) Watkins, Janice (Rob) Bank and Rhonda Watkins; special friend Nicole Brownlee and a host of nephews, nieces,, great nieces and great nephews and friends.
