Clyde "Java"
Bell, Jr.
May 17, 1947 — Apr 23, 2026
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14: 2-4
Clyde Jr. was born May 17, 1947 to the late Mr. Clyde Bell Sr. and the late Mrs. Susie Jane Caldwell Bell. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mount Zion Community Church. Clyde graduated from Lee Prentiss High School in 1965. While attending Lee Prentiss High School, he was a member of the "Lee Prentiss Jets" basketball team. Clyde was a very outstanding basketball player. Clyde's love and passion for coaching baseball, playing baseball, and fishing were undeniable as well! He coached the "Clowns" for several years. His team had many successful seasons, and they also won numerous tournaments during the course of his career. He was employed with Corinthians Incorporated in Booneville, Mississippi for several years. While employed there, he was very dependable and dedicated.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Clyde Bell, Jr."Java", our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend departed this earthly life at Baldwyn Nursing Facility and ascended to Heaven to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. As we celebrate his homegoing, we, the family, reflect on and cherish many wonderful memories. We are beyond grateful for the time that God allotted us to spend with him. Our "JAVA" was certainly "ONE OF A KIND!" No matter when, where, or the circumstance, he would clearly and boldly speak "his truth" without any hesitation! He had a way of making you laugh and smile on your worst day because if he didn't agree with you or like you on that particular day......please understand, in his eyes, you were considered an "UNEDUCATED IDIOT!"
Clyde Jr. was united in Holy matrimony to Mrs. Billie Jean Scales Bell, a loving, faithful, devoted wife and mother for 15 years.
Clyde's memories will forever be cherished by his son, Mr. Johnny("Flap") Scales (Melissa); his sister, Ms. Ada Mae Bell; his brother, Mr. Johnny Earl Bell (Debra), a very devoted, kind, and loving niece and caretaker, Dekela Denise Bell Shumpert (Shun); a very devoted, kind, caring, and compassionate cousin that was more like a son, Willie Nabors, his sister-in-law, Toy Barnett (Wilmer); (8) grandchildren, (11) great-grandchildren, (1) great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
