Bobby Joe Terrell, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin,
and friend was born to the late Lille Bell and Wardell Terrell Sr. on July 15, 1948, in Tupelo,
MS. Bobby Joe was raised by his Uncle Luke and Aunt Cindy Burress of Plantersville, MS. Bobby
Joe was a true friend who loved his entire family with all his heart! He did all that he could to
make sure that his family had everything that they needed. Bobby Joe Terrell departed this earth
on February 10, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS.
"BJ" graduated from Siggers High School in 1965. He also attended IJC and studied electricity.
Bobby Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army. He fought in the Vietnam and
Korean wars to help protect our freedom. He retired from the Army Reserves as a Master
Sergeant. "BJ" was a sharp businessman that loved trying to make money. He was employed
at Day-Brite and Bryan Foods for years. He also helped build the Tombigbee Waterway. Bobby
Joe was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family and friends on Madison
Street. One of his favorite sayings was "At, At, At!" That let you know when he was serious and
wasn't playing. If you disobeyed, it may have led to some keys on your head. "BJ" loved to
barbecue and listen to blues. He was always the life of the party.
