Bobby Lee Stubbs was born to the late Flent Stubbs and Charlie Lucille Witherspoon on November 12, 1944, in Saltillo, Lee County, Mississippi. In the early morning of February 24, 2022, Bobby Lee Stubbs, 77, joined our Creator after a sudden illness at the Tupelo Rehabilitation Center, Briar Ridge, Tupelo, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Karen Burns Stubbs, his beloved son, Bobby Stubbs Jr., and parents. Bobby confessed a hope in Christ at an early age joining Poplar Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Saltillo, MS where he was a dedicated and faithful member over the years. He served as a layman, steward, trustee, choir member and bus driver. He lived a happy and wonderful life and made it a point daily to inspire others to do the same.

Bobby Stubbs received his diploma in 1964 from George Washington Carver High School in Tupelo, Mississippi. He furthered his education by briefly attending Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. However, he successfully completed the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy in Pearl, Mississippi becoming a certified law enforcement officer. Upon successful completion of the academy, he continued his employment with the Tupelo Police Department. He spent twenty-five years as a law enforcement officer and was loved and adored by many.

Bobby Stubbs was an active and caring man who spent most of his life thinking about others. He always surrounded himself with his friends and family which is where he felt most comfortable and loved. He is survived by his three children, three siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
