Betty Jane
Sullivan
Aug 27, 1940 — Aug 8, 2024
Baldwyn
Betty Jane Wade Sullivan was born to Andrew and Mary Jane Wade in Baldwyn,
MS, on August 27, 1940. Betty was educated in the Baldwyn MS, Public Schools.
Betty professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Nebo CME Church.
Betty later relocated her membership to Mt. Olive M.B. Church to worship the
Lord with her husband and children.
September 7, 1957, Betty and Bobby Mancle Sullivan were married. To this
union, 4 children were born: Rossie Howard Sullivan (Marilyn), Markeda Delar
Coleman (Kenneth), Stevie Bradford Sullivan (Delander) and Renata Nechella
Wren (David). Betty worked in various industries. One of her proudest
accomplishments was operating her own business as a baker; and decorating
cakes for weddings, birthdays, and special occasions. She enjoyed cooking,
maintaining the house, gardening, and taking care of their children. She loved
traveling. She traveled as far as Hawaii to make a wedding cake for a niece. Some
of the other places that she traveled to were Delaware, Chicago, University of
Mississippi, Mississippi State and the Botanical Gardens in Memphis, TN to create
wedding cakes. She was a fierce advocate of education. She taught her children
the importance of acquiring a good education. She was always very proud of their academic achievements. Betty also nurtured and was a mentor to Mary
Dilworth and Eddie William Agnew (RedHead), cousins.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by 9 siblings: Andrew
Wade JR., Ella Mae Franklin, Louise Rubin, Mildred Glover, Rev. Eugene Wade,
Milton Wade, Herman Wade, Gail Grice and Walter Wade. Memories of Betty will
always be cherished by her grandchildren; Justin McKinney, Leah Brownlee
(Devin), Andrew Wren, Jessie Sullivan, Jessica Sullivan, Stephen Sullivan and Kiona
Dilworth. Eddie William Agnew (Redhead) will also cherish the memories (holiday
meals and after school conversations) with Betty. One grandchild, preceded Betty
in death: Charles Edward McKinney Jr. We will ensure that the great
grandchildren will be taught about their great grandmother, Betty Jane Wade
Sullivan. She also leaves to mourn her passing, 2 sisters-in-law: Edwina Sullivan
Grice and Erma N. Wade. Cousin Fred and Mary Dilworth will also miss
celebrating holidays with Betty. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, friends, and her Mt. Olive M.B. Church Family to mourn her passing.
