On the 20th day of October, 1968, Sister Betty Shinault-Penrose (Lou) was born to the late
Andrew and Channie Mae Shinault. Jesus stepped right in on March 21, 2026 to take his
beloved daughter home. Betty was the widow of her late husband, Danny Joe Penrose. Betty
was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was loved and adored
by her seven daughters and twelve grandchildren. Betty attended Wheeler School and became
a member of Ruben Chapel Church at an early age. She later joined Springhill M.B. Church in
Baldwyn, Ms. Betty was a giver at heart and never turned a blind eye to anyone in need. Her
family knew she was always a special one you could call on.
Betty leaves to cherish her memories; seven daughters: Brittany Shinault of Guntown, Ms,
Tyrhonda Shinault of Baldwyn, Ms, Takeshia Shinault and Jalisa Shinault of Booneville, Ms,
Letocal Shinault, Leteaga Shinault, and Naijah Shinault of Baldwyn, Ms; twelve grandchildren;
three brothers: Billy Shinault and David Shinault of Baldwyn, Ms, and Charles (Renay) Lowery
of Booneville, Ms; one sister: Tessa Mitchell of Baldwyn, Ms; one Goddaughter: Sherika Young;
one Godson: KiKi Young; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend Maurice
Standifer.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband: Danny Joe Penrose; parents: Andrew and Channie
Mae Shinault; three grandchildren: Jaston Shinault, Christian Shinault, Jace Shinault; two
sisters: JoAnn Beene, Christy Chandler; four brothers: Oliver Lewis, Jerry Wayne, Jimmy Ray
and Terry Wayne Shinault; two brothers-in-law: Gregory Mitchell and Bobby Chandler, and other
relatives.
